About Me
- About Me: Be sure to bring your cup of tea when you come by my blog to read...or, feel free to bring coffee instead. I will likely have a freshly-baked coffee cake ready to go with it. I am a homebirthing, homeschooling Mom of 4; a follower of Our Amazing God, yet still in need of His Divine Grace. I am so grateful for these little blessings He has given us to raise, for my husband, and for my job as Keeper of the Home. My blog is a mixture of what I do and who I am and what is going on in our lives. I also toss in recipes here and there, and blog about our homeschooling from time to time.
More About Me
- Nicknames: Ummm, no. Don't. Unless you know me. And even then, use caution.
- Religion: I believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. He is the Son of God, the Father; He died and rose again, and left His Holy Spirit behind for His followers. Following Jesus is not a religion!
- Heroes: Jesus, my Lord, first and foremost. I love the Apostles Paul and John, amazing writers in ancient times, and now recorded in our New Testament. I love the Psalmist David; so human, and yet a man after God's own heart! I adore my Grandmas (both in heaven now) and there are many I admire whose paths have crossed my own.
- Interests: reading, writing, blogging :) reading, baking, sewing (especially patchwork quilts!), reading, internet, homekeeping, reading, homeschooling, gardening
- Expertise: having an opinion--and sharing it!
- Occupation: homekeeping/homeschooling
Books
- Favorite Books: too many to list; I have rarely met a book which did not become my friend!
- Favorite Authors: Rosamunde Pilcher, Max Lucado, Kevin Leman, Eugenia Price, Emilie Barnes, among others...I like the poetry of Robert Frost, Emily Dickinson, and Robert Louis Stevenson. Lately I've been enjoying writings by Robert Webber and Daniel Williams
- Favorite Genres: mostly non-fiction, homeschool info, homekeeping/organization, currently--theology
- Favorite Quotes: Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and I--I took the one less travelled by, and that has made all the difference (Frost)
- Recent Reads: I do reviews on my blog, as I am reading...my current favorite is "Celebration of Discipline" by Richard Foster
Food
- Favorite Cuisine: American comfort food, Italian--ummm, is "chocolate" a cuisine? Enjoy Japanese food as well (the "real" stuff!)
- Favorite Dishes: tender, flavorful pot roast; a lightly flavored salmon; anything pasta/rice
- Favorite Desserts: CHOCOLATE (as in mousse, fudge, cake, etc...do I have to pick?) and pretty much anything sweet!
- Favorite Drinks: a cozy cup of hot tea, Starbucks, iced (green!) tea in Summer
- Favorite Junk Foods: chocolate chip cookies, M&Ms, oreos, select ice cream, popcorn, "hint of lime" tostitos
- Best meal ever: Hmmmm, I've had a lot of good food!
- My Original Recipes: I am forever "tinkering" with the recipes I use, but I cannot claim ownership to any of them!
Travel
- Places I love: the mountains (as in, Colorado!), and if there's a beautiful stream or a peaceful lake nearby, all the better
- Places I've been: various states, Japan
- Places to see before I die: I'd love to visit Ireland, England, Scotland, Switzerland...but if I never make it, well, heaven will hold more glory than any place on earth!
- Dream Vacation: I tend to think in terms of reality...and reality is, that right now, I'd just like to make it up to Kansas City!
Music
- Favorite Artists: Il Divo, Josh Groban, Enya, a few Christian praise artists as well
- Favorite Albums: in addition to many favorites, I love Christmas music
- Favorite Genre: somewhat eclectic
- Favorite Songs: too many to list!
- Guilty Pleasure: if I feel guilty listening to it, then the guilt would cancel out any pleasure I might have had listening to it, thereby rendering it pointless to play such music!
High School

- Class of: 1990
- Sports: not likely!
- Organizations: music, writing
