  • Nationality: 'melting-pot' American (Hungarian/German/Welsh/English/Alsatian)
  • Religion: Pagan/Earth-centric Spirituality (I'm not really fond of organized religions in general at this time, as I consider religious beliefs and spirituality a highly personal thing, and I think the very existence of organized religion opens up more possibilities for creating barriers, rather than unity, among the peoples of the Earth)
  • Heroes: my mom, my brother, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Mickey Hart, Babatunde Olatunji, Jane Goodall, Mr. Spock...
  • Interests: What occupies most of my time: home and "family" - husband Bernie, 6 furry "kids" - 3 cats, 4 dogs (Pomeranian), plus an ever changing number of foster dogs (currently 2)... Volunteer work: Volunteer and foster for Pom Posse Pomeranian Rescue, transport driver for various pet rescue and transport groups... What I do for enjoyment: Art, Music, Gardening, Nature/Outdoors, Crafts, Cooking, Reading/Learning, Holistic Health, Earth Centered Spirituality, Home Decor, Internet Surfing, Word Puzzles... What I collect: World Percussion Instruments, Occupied Japan Miniature Vases, Toys (Bears, Trolls, Furbies, Barbies, whatever amuses me)...
  • Expertise: finding things, working with my hands, growing stuff, caring for critters, visualization, philosophizing... oh, I have a BA in Fine Arts too, as if degrees actually mean anything...
  • Occupation: eBay Seller http://www.especiallyfuryou.com
  • Industry: E-tail

Travel

  • Places I love: England! ... also the Appalachian mountains, seashores, ports and harbors, caves and caverns (the commercially developed kind with lights and walkways -- no wild spelunking for me!) gardens and historic estates, museums and galleries, old ships and boats, and related places. Favorite cities: London, San Francisco, New Orleans, Paris, Philadelphia
  • Places I've been: All of the States in the US except Kansas, Tenessee, Washington, Oregon, Alaska and Hawaii. Jamaica. The eastern part of Canada as far north as Nova Scotia. Various places in England (but still many more to explore!), Paris (with a side trip to Chartres)
  • Places to see before I die: So many, and so little time!... Wales, Ireland, Hungary (Budapest, where my grandmom grew up)... Greece, Italy, the Meditteranean... Mexico, Belize, Brazil... The Great Pyramids, the Parthenon, the Sistine Chapel... the remaining US states I haven't visited, especially Hawaii -- I want to see the sun rise over the Haleakala volcano crater some day. I also want to see Loons and Beluga Whales in the wild...
  • Dream Vacation: A very long, very detailed trip around the world, visiting all the centers of the arts and culture.... or sailing on an authentic tall ship, or a long cruise up the Mississippi in a sternwheel riverboat...

Style

  • Where I shop: catalogs and online for clothes, all over for accessories and home decor
  • Brands I love: none in particular for clothing, New Balance, Merrell or Avia footwear, Pier One for the home
  • I like to wear: non-constricting, comfy clothes that feel nice to the touch, as little as possible - depending on the weather and the circumstances. long dresses, capris or loose pants, tops with vnecks or scoops (no high or tight necklines - they make me want to scream!) muted colors, prints that appeal to me. lots of grey and soft blues and greens.
  • Can't live without: lip balm, rich, scented hand lotions and my bubble baths. loose, comfortable "house dresses". comforable places to sit, a rocking chair and a big ottoman for my feet, lots of pillows and throws. my computer and music. lots of animals around me. flowers and plants.
  • Prized Possessions: a houseplant (ponytial palm) I have had for over 30 years. my musical instruments. my grandfather's Morris Rocker. my books. family photos and mementos. and my computer - it connects me to the world.
  • Guilty Pleasure: spa pedicures (which I really can't afford)... spending a whole day day just lying around and napping...

Food

  • Favorite Cuisine: It depends on when you ask me. Usually something richly flavorful, often spicy. Indian, Mexican, Cajun, Chinese, Mediterranean, anything on the grill, seafood, pizza (preferably Sicilian), and, of course, Hungarian food -- I was raised on it! I often go for the vegetarian selections if given a choice, but I am not currently a total vegetarian.
  • Favorite Dishes: I like to try new dishes, rather than eat the same stuff all the time. But some favorites are: Indian - navratan korma, and saag paneer, Mexican -- chile rellenos, cheese/onion enchiladas, Cajun - red beans and rice with or without andouille, jambalaya, Chinese - spicy tofu dishes, hot and sour soup... I love good substantial breads, anything with cheese, and stuff you eat in bowls. I'd eat soup every day of the year if I could.
  • Favorite Desserts: All kinds -- especially the ones with chocolate, strawberries or raspberries, mango, lemon or lime, or mocha flavors.
  • Favorite Drinks: cofffffeeeee! almost any variation -- hot, cold, frozen -- most varieties, and especially mocha blends. seltzer/fruit juce spritzers. all kinds of tea (hot, sometimes iced) ... and ice cold lowfat milk -- it does a body good!
  • Favorite Junk Foods: marshmallows (all varieties), rice crispie squares, tortilla chips (and salsa con queso) ... I'd say chocolate, but it is one of the five basic food groups -- the darker the better.
  • Best meal ever: Choucroute Garni in a beautifully furnished authentic Alsatian restaurant in Paris. With a half carafe of Alsatian white wine -- one of my most memorable experiences ever, the only bad part was that I was traveling alone and have nobody to share the memory with! I think the surroundings are as important as the meal most of the time.
  • My Original Recipes: there are loads of them, mostly everything I cook!
  • Favorite Restaurants: Passage to India, Red Moon Pizza, Hunan Kitchen (all local places - I don't really like the big restaurant franchises)
  • Foods I hate: melons! -- and I am not too keen on bananas and cucumbers either mostly because they don't always 'agree with me'. I don't eat Veal for ethical reasons (or even feed it to my pets)
